Meet Our TeamVeterinary Surgeons

Sue Taylor BVMS MVM MRCVS
Director (Equine)
Equine Centre
Sue Taylor
I am the daughter of Mick Taylor, the founder of the practice, hence I grew up with veterinary medicine around me, helping my father from a very early age.
I qualified from Glasgow vet school in 1976, and then spent a year as a postgraduate studying equine orthopaedics leading to an MVM.
Following several years living in Newmarket working as a locum, I returned here in 1980 and have been here ever since. I have been one of the racecourse vets at Wolverhampton from 1980, Uttoxeter race course since 1988, I am now part of the team at Haydock and also at Aintree for the bigger race days such as the Grand National. I find all my job fascinating, but I have a special interest in equine performance/ lameness and in farriery (I am an examiner for the Worshipful Company of farriers).
I have ridden all my life and own several thoroughbred horses. In my (limited!!) spare time I train point to pointers and hunter chasers; often having them from youngsters, breaking them in and then taking them through their training. I also breed the occasional thoroughbred foal. I live with my rescued lurcher Hal, my whippet Tiny Tim and my partner Paul who manufactures saddlery.

Julie Wylie BVetMed (Hons) PgC(FVS) MRCVS
Wolverhampton
Julie Wylie
I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2002 and have worked at Connaught since I qualified.
I spend the majority of my time at the Wolverhampton hospital where I enjoy the complete variety of routine and more complex small animal work and enjoy all aspects of my role with both medical and surgical cases. I also work at the Codsall branch in the evenings where I thoroughly enjoy building relationships with clients and their pets and assisting them through the highs and lows of life’s journey.
Knowledge and professional development is an important part of everyone’s careers at Connaught House Veterinary Group. I have recently completed my PgC in Feline Practice and I am currently working towards my PgC in Emergency Medicine and Surgery.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time as a family with my husband and daughter. We have a busy household with border collies and small breed dogs who enjoy competitive agility as well as being owned by a number of cats who enjoy the lazier life!

Andrew Mills BVetMed MRCVS
Clinical Director (Wolverhampton)
Wolverhampton
Andrew Mills
Clinically, I have mainly worked for our equine department, but I have always maintained some companion animal work, usually spending my days out and about looking at horses and then covering evenings and emergencies wherever I was needed. This has previously been sufficient to keep me in an operating theatre, but I have recently decided to spend all of my clinical time in our companion animal department, as I further develop my passion for surgery. The instant improvement in patient’s welfare from a surgery is so rewarding. I’m excited to have signed up for a Post Graduate Certificate in soft tissue surgery (PGCert STS) to continue to advance this area of my career.
Outside of work, I spend my time hiking, climbing, and mountaineering. I have a wife, Beverly (also a vet at Connaught House), and two daughters, Faith and Constance. We live with our two pet cats, Mojo and Gibbs, as well as our parrot, Bertie, who does a mean impression of the burglar alarm that keep us all on our toes!

Kathryn Wright BVetMed MRCVS
Clinical Director (Kingswinford)
Kingswinford
Kathryn Wright
I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 1997 and joined the Connaught team in 1998.
I am mostly based at our Kingswinford Surgery and have enjoyed the challenges of building up the surgery to where it now lies at the heart of our friendly local community.
We see a varied day to day small animal caseload and I have a particular interest in ophthalmology cases and feline medicine – having 5 cats of my own definitely helps with this! I also enjoy using veterinary acupuncture alongside more conventional treatments to offer a wider range of options to our clients and their pets.
When I’m not at work I love to attend live music concerts (preferably from the front row!) and I also have a passion for Ceroc (modern jive) dancing.

I started with Connaught in September 2025, being based at the main Wolverhampton hospital means I get to see a lot of interesting cases, and be hands on with the animals we welcome through the door.
My favourite part of the job would be in-patient care, because while your pets stay with us, whether it is a day or a week, I get to ensure they still receive the love and attention they would whilst they are at home.
I also enjoy assisting scans, both heart and abdominal scans, comforting the animals while they have the exam done.
Outside of work, my life is taken up by my three horses – Annie, who is a Welsh Cob; Carrot, who is a Thoroughbred; and Georgis, who is a Blue Cross rescue Shetland. Any spare time I have is spent with the horses, either riding or doing basic care. At home, I have an indoor cat called Archie, who we let explore the outdoors on a harness, whether that is local walks or even coming on holiday!
