🌟 We’re Proud to Announce… We Are Now an ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic – Silver Accredited! 🌟

Our Wolverhampton practice is absolutely delighted to have been awarded the ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic Accreditation – Silver Award! 🐾💜

This achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and genuine love our team has for caring for cats. Creating a calmer, safer, and more understanding environment for our feline patients has always been a priority — and we’re thrilled to have this recognised.

🐱 What Is the ISFM Cat Friendly Accreditation Scheme?

The International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM) runs the Cat Friendly Clinic programme, an international accreditation that helps veterinary practices create the best possible experience for cats. Clinics must meet strict standards in areas such as:

  • Cat‑only or cat‑separated waiting areas to reduce stress
  • Gentle, feline‑friendly handling techniques
  • Staff training in feline behaviour, medicine, and stress reduction
  • Cat‑appropriate hospitalisation facilities
  • A clinic‑wide ethos focused on understanding cats’ unique needs

These requirements are part of the official Silver‑level criteria, which include dedicated cat waiting areas, trained staff, and facilities designed to minimise stress during hospitalisation .

💜 How Does This Benefit You and Your Cat?

Being a Cat Friendly Clinic – Silver means your cat receives care in an environment designed just for them:

  • Less stress during visits thanks to quieter spaces and reduced exposure to dogs
  • Gentler handling and a team trained to recognise subtle signs of feline fear or anxiety
  • Better medical care from staff who complete ongoing feline‑specific training and CPD
  • Improved welfare through facilities and protocols that support both physical health and emotional wellbeing

In short: your cat’s comfort, safety, and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do.

We have 2 Cat Advocates within the practice: Vet Rachel and Vet Nurse Felicity. Cat Advocates work within the practice to ensure that cat-friendly standards are maintained. They champion low-stress handling, make sure protocols are up to date and followed, educate staff and are a focal point within the practice for all things feline! Being a little cat crazy also helps with this role too!

A special mention also to Vet Nurse Beth, who is currently on maternity leave. Beth worked very hard with Rachel before going on maternity leave to ensure we gained the award.

We’re incredibly proud of our Wolverhampton team for achieving this award — and even more excited to continue providing the calm, compassionate, cat‑centred care your feline family members deserve. 💜🐾
